Heya! Today on the blog we’re featuring some crazy talent.
KB: Hey Maggie! (I hope you don’t mind that I call you that, I’m just so used to it since primary school days). Please tell the readers a bit about yourself!
M: Haha! ? Well I still go by that name, Maggie. I’m currently a 2nd year architecture student at the University of Nairobi. I love photography, travelling and rock music and I’m a huge art fan especially drawing and painting.
KB: You do some pretty impressive artwork on shoes! How did this idea come about?
M: I’ve always loved art since I could write (lol?) but I wasn’t sure about the painting part until sometime last year when I joined architecture school.
During the semester, I realised that people like stuff which is customised to their taste. I considered customising jewellery or bags but those areas were a bit crowded. I eventually settled on shoes. It started as a hobby then slowly grew into a business.
KB: What are your plans for this hobby? Do you intend to make it big, you know, be the next great young entrepreneur of our generation? I believe you were also featured in the newspapers? (Congrats BTW)
M: Haha! ? Thank you. I thank God for that. I really want my art to grow and become something bigger than what it is now, though I still want to continue with architecture. I thought art would be a plan B but now I want to do it alongside architecture because people are looking for something different.
KB: How can people contact you if they’d like to order shoes from you?
Take a look at some of her artwork below, quite amazing huh?
Definitely check out her Instagram and Facebook pages, and don’t forget to like, comment and share. Cheers! ?
