Musings,

“Dragon Ladies”

Heya guys!

I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic lately and so, I went through my archived and unpublished posts. I stumbled upon this gem that I’d like to share with you. It’s an excerpt from a conversation I had a while back, probably around a year prior to October 2016 —which is when this post was last edited. It’s conversations like this that I live for! Now, I don’t know if the guy in dialogue with me was just spitting game…what I do know though, is that I learned a new perspective that I’ll carry with me forever and isn’t that all we can hope for in our interactions with people?

“I dislike lazy and dependent people, there is something so alluring about the lady who needs nothing from you. I actually call them Dragon Ladies, with whom you must work hard and well to gain their love else-wise you get burned.”

Dragon Ladies? I like it…it sounds powerful.”

“I love dragons, it’s so enticing to play with fire. Dragon Ladies are very dangerous.”

“Dragons? Aren’t they meant to be totally unfriendly and aggressive?”

“Yeah, but once you befriend them they are the best of friends. Dragons are the best lovers but also dangerous should you not follow the right course. The beauty lies in the danger of being burned with the hope that instead of fire, a strong bond will form between the dragon and the suitor. Nothing makes one more alive than being close to danger.”

Here’s to more refreshing conversations! ?

Most African men (unfortunately) who claim to be attracted to strong successful women are lowkey enamoured with the idea of being the one to break her… Like what they do with wild horses.

Wow! I hadn’t thought of it that way. It’s true, some people are so deeply flawed that they want to break others.

In our ‘young’ days – eons ago, there was a record “Don’t play with fire, Fire will burn you!” Now, since it’s about dragon ladies, then no need for fears from my side….

Ivy

Haha! Yes Dad, no need to worry.
